Habitat: Collected in very disturbed tropical rainforest, in which most of the vegetation was already cleared for cattle pastures.
Etymology: The specific name, a noun in apposition, is the Latin word for pilgrim, and refers to the pilgrims who visit the virgin of Santa Catarina Juquila annually, an event which is among the most famous in the state of Oaxaca.
